Affirming Jesus Where Worldly Affirmations Come to Die

I am a diamond. It’s time for me to shine

I

There’s a question here that should be asked: Are you sure you want to be a diamond? Before you answer that question, you should know how diamonds are formed.

In a nutshell, diamonds are formed from crystalized carbon atoms and are found mainly in a specific type of volcanic rock. Diamonds are formed under a lot of pressure and a considerable amount of time, which can vary widely.

No diamond is found fully cut and polished. They are found in the rough and most of us would not recognize one if we saw it. The majority of diamonds go for industrial use, but the better quality stones end up becoming the jewelry most of us are familiar with.

Bringing it back home, you were not born a diamond. You are probably not a diamond right now, and you don’t become one merely by identifying as one. I realize this affirmation uses a metaphor, but still, once again, are you sure you want to become a diamond? Even metaphorically?

If so, be prepared for a lot of pressure to mold your soul, as well as the time it takes to make you the person God intents for you to be.

The Bible tells us that God began a good work in us and He will see it through. He will take your entire lifetime to mold you, discipline you, shape you, remake you – anything and everything He needs to do to make you the gemstone of His choice for His own crown.

You will go through trials and tribulations in the meantime, but at the end of it all is the character and beauty of Jesus Christ that He imparts to those who love and trust Him.
